“For more than 150 years, our products and operations have helped build the world we know. And across 34 countries, our 61,000+ employees are working every day to find better ways to provide the materials the world needs.
Our core products – iron ore, copper, aluminium and lithium – are the building blocks of a cleaner, smarter future.
We’re finding better ways to produce those materials, underpinned by knowledge and social license built across generations and continents. And strengthened by partnerships with the diverse communities and Indigenous Peoples whose lands we operate on.
We remain focused on decarbonising our business, and we have a pathway to reach our 50% emissions reduction target by 2030.
Our relationships with community members, customers, investors and research partners go beyond transactions – together, we innovate and create solutions that deliver shared success and global impact.” – Rio Tinto
Resolve Mining Solutions: Engineering Certainty Underground
Since 2017, Resolve Mining Solutions has built a reputation as one of Australia’s leading independent underground mining consultancies, delivering technical excellence across the full mine lifecycle, from resource definition through to closure. With offices in Melbourne VIC, Perth WA, Adelaide SA, and Orange NSW, our team combines deep local knowledge with the kind of cross-site experience that only comes from working across multiple commodities, geologies, and mining methods.
Caving and Geotechnical Expertise
Cave mining sits at the heart of what we do. Our geotechnical and mining specialists bring hands-on experience across block caving, sub-level caving, and panel caving operations, supporting clients through strategic and detailed planning, construction, cave initiation, production modelling, subsidence assessment, and ongoing cave management. We understand that caving is as much about managing uncertainty as it is about engineering design: rock mass characterisation, draw control strategy, and hazard management all demand a level of technical rigour that only comes from having stood in the cave, not just modelled it on a screen. Our consultants have contributed to some of the industry’s most technically demanding caving projects, bringing practical, field-tested judgement to every stage of design and operation.
Underground and Open Pit Mining Consulting
Beyond caving, Resolve provides end-to-end mining consulting across both underground and open pit operations. This includes mine planning and scheduling, ventilation design, and geotechnical engineering, feasibility studies, and operational reviews. Whether a client needs a rapid technical due diligence review, a full mine design from scratch, or ongoing support through the ramp-up and operational phase, our approach is grounded in pragmatic, implementable solutions rather than theoretical best practice alone. We work alongside our clients’ teams rather than simply handing over a report, our goal is to leave every site better equipped to solve its own problems long after our engagement ends.
Embedded Technical Talent
In addition to project-based consulting, Resolve also places embedded technical specialists directly within client teams: geotechnical engineers, mining engineers, and other technical talent who work on-site as an extension of the client’s own workforce. This model gives operations access to specialist mining expertise exactly when and where it’s needed, without the overhead of a traditional consulting engagement.
Why Resolve
Resolve Mining Solutions is built on a simple premise: that mining consultancy should be led by people who have actually done the work underground, not just studied it. That ethos still drives everything we do today. Whether you’re tackling a challenging cave propagation problem, planning your next open pit expansion, or simply need an extra pair of experienced hands on-site, our team is ready to help you turn technical complexity into operational certainty.
We look forward to connecting with you at ACG Caving 2026. Come and find us at Booth 2 to talk all things caving and see how our team can support you.
Sandvik Ground Support: Shaping the Future of Underground Safety and Productivity
Sandvik Ground Support is a division of Sandvik Mining, part of the global, high-tech engineering group Sandvik, which delivers solutions that enhance productivity,
profitability and sustainability across the manufacturing, mining and infrastructure industries. Within Sandvik Mining, Ground Support is one of the divisions that together span the entire rock excavation value chain — from mine planning and drilling through loading, hauling and ground support — positioning Sandvik as a single partner across every stage of underground development.
At its core, Ground Support delivers intelligent, end-to-end solutions that improve safety and operational efficiency in underground mining and tunnelling, with a strong focus on automation and continuous innovation. Rock falls remain one of the most serious risks underground, and the division engineers tailor-made solutions for the full range of ground control challenges: seismicity, high rock stress, large-scale deformation, squeezing ground, fractured ground, cavities, water inflow and corrosive environments.
The broadest portfolio in ground support
Sandvik offers one of the industry’s most comprehensive ground support portfolios, covering rock bolts, friction bolts, dynamic bolts, cable bolts and MD/MDX bolts;
mesh and straps; chemicals and grouts, including injection resins, cement grouts and resin capsules; tunnelling and geotechnical systems; digital monitoring; and a
full service offering. Bolts and cables are engineered for versatility across demanding conditions, mesh systems deliver superior load distribution to prevent collapses, and chemicals and grouts provide ground consolidation, water control and structural reinforcement.
Manufacturing, supply chain and testing strength
The division operates a world-class manufacturing base with more than 20 production sites and a presence in over 70 countries. Local manufacturing near mining areas, local stockholding, Vendor Managed Inventory and customised logistics keep mines operational and supply chains resilient. Facilities include a highly advanced chemical factory with an in-house research and development centre, automated production of hollow bars in Austria, and in-house galvanizing.
Quality and performance underpin everything: millions of rock bolts and thousands of tonnes of chemicals are carefully tested against high manufacturing standards.
Sandvik’s in-house Dynamic Test facility in Heatherbrae, New South Wales, along with a mobile dynamic test rig, allows in-situ testing of ground support members under realistic site conditions — including shear loading — giving miners ground support they can rely on.
Innovation and digital ground control
Growth and innovation drive the division’s strategy, supported by strengthened R&D, in-house chemical labs, and next-generation products such as the MDX Peg Bolt and a pumpable, styrene-free resin. Looking ahead, Sandvik is creating digital ground control — enabling safe, efficient and productive development through real-time, adaptive ground support designs powered by sensors, connected equipment, apps and artificial intelligence, from excavation-surface and rock-mass monitoring to integrated QA/QC.
A trusted partner
Partnering with Sandvik means keeping people safe with end-to-end solutions, delivered to the right place at the right time, backed by local stocks in all major mining regions and support that enables seamless productivity — together shaping a safer and smarter future for mining
